This isn't how I envisioned the painting when I started, but I got really depressed halfway through, and it turned into this. Still, I'm satisfied.
*16" x 20" acrylic on canvas, leaves of iridescent origami paper, so they change colors depending on the angle. Paint drips were intentional.

It's lovely; maybe not the way you originally envisioned your desired results, but still attractive! The colors are wonderful. The vertical strokes throughout the work gave me the initial impression (when in "small view" ) of this being a multi-color woodcut, or a painting on a piece of distressed wood.
Although you marked "Advanced Critique" I would leave it as it is.
The origami leaves are a nice touch; unfortunately, the 3-d aspect of such paper and its reflective colors are lost in this image, yet in no way does that ruin the overall look.
BTW, I like the ee cummings touch.
